Myles Turner Headshot

Myles is a professional basketball player for the Indiana Pacers of the NBA. On July 13, 2015, he signed his rookie contract with the Pacers after averaging 18.7 points per game during the 2015 NBA Summer League.  He made his debut for the Pacers on October 29, 2015.  He played one season for the Texas Longhorns before declaring for the 2015 NBA draft and being selected by the Pacers with the 11th overall pick. Turner played AAU basketball for the Texas Select team during the springs and summers to further develop himself and gain recognition as a player, participating in well-known tournaments and camps such as the LeBron camp, the Nike Big Man Skills Academy, the NBPA Top 100 camp, Adidas Nations, and the Elite 24 invitational. Turner will participate with the USA Men’s Select Team which will train against the 2016 USA Basketball Men’s National Team this summer.

During Myles’ senior year at Trinity, he began garnering national attention and becoming a highly sought-after recruit for his athleticism, ball handling, shooting ability, and natural shot-blocking ability.  He finished out his high school career with a staggering 18.1 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 6.8 blocks per game, leading the Trojans to a 24–7 record and was one of the last highly sought-after recruits left that were uncommitted.

Shawn Williams Sr. | Camp Coordinator

Now in his 15th year as Executive Director of Texas Select Basketball Organization, Williams has coached over 50 Division 1 basketball players. During that time Texas Select has become one of the premier AAU programs in the nation. NBA rookie standout Myles Turner is a product of Texas Select and has set the bar for top players coming out of the program. Turner played in the McDonald’s All-American game and ranked nationally as the No. 2 player in the country. In addition to serving as the Executive Director of Texas Select, Williams also founded and directed Hoop Dreams Basketball Camp for Girls. With coaching clinics, individual skills training, and team clinics, Williams continues to share his love for the game.

Williams played collegiately at the University of Central Oklahoma, where he was a two-year starter and caption for the Broncos. While at UCO Williams was named a Kodak All American, All Lone Star Conference, and led the NCAA in 3-pointers.
